Usage notes & scoring

Alphas were .98 (Study 5) and .95 (Study 6a pretest) (Waites et al. 2023, pp. 958, 961). Validity was not discussed per se, but the scale was used as a manipulation check in the Study 6a pretest and the manipulation was successful, offering some preliminary evidence of predictive validity. Waites et al. (2023) used the scale with respect to a charity; the phrasing appears adaptable to other causes such as political candidates, religious organizations, and educational institutions. Items follow the stem "Donating to ___ makes you feel that you are..."
