Usage notes & scoring

Alphas ranged from .88 to .92 (Hamby, Tezer, and Escalas 2023, pp. 413, 415). Validity was not discussed per se; however, since the scale was used as a manipulation check in each of the studies and those manipulations were successful, some preliminary support for the measure's predictive validity was provided. This is a companion to another scale from the same paper, Eudaimonic Symbolism of the Object.
