What it measures
A brief, freely available measure of OCD symptom severity across six symptom domains. Each item asks how much distress the symptom caused in the past month. Total score >=21 has been proposed as a clinical cut-off.
Representative items
- I wash and clean excessively. (Washing)
- I have unpleasant thoughts come into my mind against my will. (Obsessing)
- I feel compelled to count while doing things. (Ordering)
- I check things more often than necessary. (Checking)
- I have difficulty throwing things away, so I accumulate things. (Hoarding)
