This scale measures how acceptable or wrong a person judges a particular policy issue to be. Seiders, Flynn, and Nenkov (2022) used it repeatedly in a field study spanning two election issues, as well as in a follow-up experiment, to track shifts in issue acceptability around industry persuasion campaigns.

The scale was highly reliable across administrations, with alphas ranging from .93 to .96 (Seiders, Flynn, and Nenkov 2022, web appendices W2 and W10). A confirmatory factor analysis on field-study data supported the scale's discriminant validity using the Fornell and Larcker (1981) criterion. The blank should be filled with a name or brief description of the focal issue.
