Effort to Receive Sales Promotion Benefit (Post-purchase)

ESPPPost-purchase Promotion Redemption Effort
3 items 2010 α 0.88 Free Xia, L., Kukar-Kinney, M., & Monroe, K.B.

What it measures

A three-item scale measuring the amount of effort a consumer perceives they exerted after a purchase in order to benefit from a price-matching policy. Items assess whether the price-matching policy prompted additional information search, the counterfactual absence of that effort without the policy, and the overall level of post-purchase competitive price searching. Developed as a manipulation check for promotional effort conditions, the scale captures the post-purchase dimension of promotion redemption burden.
