This scale measures how much a person believes that emotions generally last a long time versus fade quickly. Faraji-Rad and Lee (2022) used it in two MTurk studies on 'banking happiness,' borrowing the scale from Labroo and Mukhopadhyay's (2009) work on lay theories of emotion transience.

The scale's alpha was .94 in Study 1 (Faraji-Rad and Lee 2022, p. 340); reliability was not reported for Study 2. Validity was not separately discussed. FLAGGED FOR REVIEW: the scale was borrowed directly (not adapted) from Labroo and Mukhopadhyay (2009). Included here under the seminal/highly-cited exception to the verbatim-lift exclusion rule since the focal paper reports its own reliability data for this administration — pending Gav's confirmation that the original instrument clears the 'seminal/highly-cited' bar for this treatment.
