This scale measures the degree to which a person feels psychologically immersed and 'in the moment' during a pleasurable experience. Oh and Pham (2022) used it in Study 2 with 188 U.S. participants recalling a recent fun experience, developing the items from depth interviews conducted in an earlier study.

The scale's alpha was .86 (Oh and Pham 2022, p. 70). Validity was not separately discussed per se, though an EFA helped purify this and related scales, and a subsequent SEM showed good model fit (Oh 2021). A differently worded version of engagement, sharing some key words, was also used in Study 3 (p. 60).
