This scale measures how much closer a consumer feels to one product creator compared with a competing creator. Fuchs, Kaiser, Schreier, and van Osselaer (2022) used it in a study of how personalizing producers affects perceived value.

Reliability was very strong (α = .96; Fuchs et al. 2022, p. 491). The scale appears to have been created by the authors for this study; a related measure with somewhat different phrasing was used elsewhere in the same paper. The two response-scale anchors should be the names of the two product creators being compared (e.g., two competing artisans).
