What it measures

This scale measures how much a person thinks that a particular material used to package products is bad for the environment. Sokolova, Krishna, and Döring (2023) used it in Study 2B with 602 participants, applying it separately to plastic and paper packaging.

7-point Likert scale (anchors assumed to be 1=strongly disagree, 7=strongly agree, matching a similar scale in the same paper)

Usage notes & scoring

Alphas were .94 and .87 when used with respect to plastic and paper, respectively (Sokolova, Krishna, and Döring 2023, p. 478). Validity was not discussed. The source of the scale was not stated and is assumed to have been created by the authors. The blanks should be filled with the generic name of the focal packaging material, e.g., paper, plastic.
