This scale measures how much a person feels resentment and jealousy with respect to what someone else has. Wies, Bleier, and Edeling (2023) used it in Study 3a with 151 Instagram users who passed an attention test, drawing four of the five items from a scale by Appel, Crusius, and Gerlach (2015).

The alpha was .90 (Wies, Bleier, and Edeling 2023, p. 399). Validity was not discussed. The specific directions used with these adjective items were not stated in the article. Four of the five items were drawn from Appel, Crusius, and Gerlach's (2015) social-comparison-and-envy measure; flagged as an adaptation given the direct reuse of items from an established scale.
