What it measures

This scale measures how sincere, genuine, and true-to-self a person is perceived to be. Rifkin, Du, and Cutright (2023) used it across several studies on entertainment performers to test whether audiences prefer spontaneity over rehearsed authenticity. Note: this is a distinct measure from the differently authored "Authenticity of the Person" scale already in this database (ID 2100).
