3 items 2017 α .88 Free Bastos, W., & Brucks, M.

What it measures

Three items measuring how unique, different, and distinct a consumer perceives a particular purchase or consumption experience to be relative to other purchases they have had. Bastos and Brucks (2017) developed the scale to assess 'purchase uniqueness' in a study examining whether experiential or material purchases generate greater conversational value and subjective wellbeing. Participants recalled a past purchase and rated it on the scale. The blanks in each item should be replaced with a reference to the focal purchase or experience.
