Usage notes & scoring

Chang and Chu (2020) built this scale drawing ideas from Andreoni (1990) and Arora and Henderson (2007); used across two studies with adult participants in Taiwan. Reliability was excellent (α = .93–.94). Validity wasn't discussed. This is a companion to a related but distinct warm-glow measure on this site (Warm Glow from Being Altruistic), used in a different study within the same paper — that version places somewhat more emphasis on personal, positive self-feelings than this one does.
