This scale measures how much a person feels they conform to others' opinions and expectations rather than acting independently. Bartsch, Zeugner-Roth, and Katsikeas (2022) used the established authentic-personality subscale to help validate their own new measure of consumer authenticity seeking.

The scale was reliable in Study 6 (α = .90; Bartsch, Zeugner-Roth, and Katsikeas 2022, p. 302) among 484 U.K. respondents. It showed strong discriminant validity from the three dimensions of the authors' new consumer authenticity seeking construct (AVE = .68). Note: this dimension reuses the items verbatim from Wood et al.'s (2008) seminal, widely cited Authenticity Scale (already catalogued separately in this database, ID 424); reliability here reflects the focal paper's own administration.
