What it measures

Five items assess a consumer's beliefs about a company's social responsibility toward its workers — encompassing fair wages, fair labour practices, appropriate benefit packages, prohibition of underage labour, and equitable working conditions across factory locations.

Usage notes & scoring

Alphas of .98 (Study 2) and .97 (Study 3). Very high internal consistency suggests item overlap. Blanks should be replaced with the company name. The items are highly specific to overseas manufacturing contexts — appropriateness should be considered for service or domestic-only businesses.
