Captures a person's momentary sense of being powerful and in control, as a situational state rather than a stable personality trait. Three bipolar adjective pairs span feelings of strength, personal control, and power. Used as a manipulation check across four studies on the relationship between communicator power and message persuasiveness. Studies were conducted in French (Studies 1, 3, 4) and English (Study 2) at multiple European and North American institutions. All four manipulation checks were successful.
