Six items measure how much a person or organisation is perceived to possess competence-related traits including capability, skillfulness, and intelligence. Gershon and Cryder (2018) borrowed the scale from Fiske et al.'s (2002) Stereotype Content Model. A three-item version (items 4–6: Competent, Intelligent, Confident) was used by Warren and Mohr (2019) with a different stem and anchors. Factor analyses in multiple studies confirmed unidimensionality and discriminant validity.
