What it measures

Four items assess how much a person currently wants to feel competent, talented, and effective. Rudd, Hildebrand, and Vohs (2018) used the scale in Experiment 3 with 114 university students. Key terms in three items were adapted from a semantic differential scale by Dahl and Moreau (2007); a fourth sentence was added to create the scale.
