Immediate Task Enjoyment

ITEPerceived fun and interest experienced while completing a task
3 items 2016 α .93 Free Woolley, K., & Fishbach, A.

What it measures

Three semantically distinct items assessing how much a person enjoyed, found fun, and found interesting a task they have just completed. Woolley and Fishbach (2016) used this measure to capture the immediate hedonic reward of engaging with a task, framing the construct as an index of 'immediate rewards.' Each item uses its own bipolar end-point labels rather than a common agree/disagree anchor, which is unusual and should be preserved when replicating the scale.

Response format

7-point bipolar (0–6); unique end-point labels per item
