This scale measures how strongly a consumer wants products that are original and genuine rather than copies or imitations. It is the true-authenticity dimension of Bartsch, Zeugner-Roth, and Katsikeas's (2022) consumer authenticity seeking (CAS) framework, validated across six studies.

Reliability was consistently strong across four administrations (α = .85, .90, .92, .92; Bartsch, Zeugner-Roth, and Katsikeas 2022, p. 300), the highest of the three CAS dimensions. Two-week test-retest reliability was the strongest of the three CAS scales (r = .80, Study 4, n = 54). The scale showed strong content, convergent, discriminant, predictive, nomological, and known-group validity, with AVEs of .69-.73 in Studies 2, 5, and 6.
